On 22nd of this Month 3 years are completed of the tragedy which in fact changed most of the lifes. Yes , I am referring to the air crash which took place in Mangalore . That air crash of whose justice is still awaited even after 3 long years.But it seems that the duo Government and Air India have stuffed their mouth and ears to listen to the pain which kin of victims are undergoing and their promises seems to be baseless. Infact they have taken an oath to give as much pain as possible to its citizens and no matter who lost whom they just wont care even after its national carrier is involved in that heart breaking incident. Its the responsibility of the Government of India as to get the justice for its citizens.
In past sometime a foundation named 812 was formed to get our justice , here's a glimpse of its action which was retrieved from Times of India dated 20th February 2013:
"In what could be termed as a significant decision for the victims of 2010 Mangalore IX 812 air crash, the JMFC II court here on Tuesday took cognizance of offense under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the private complaint of filed by 812 Foundation.
The private complaint alleged three government agencies and 12 officials as responsible for theAir India Express 812 crash of May 22, 2010 which claimed 158 lives.
The judge cited the Subramanian Swamy Vs Manmohan Singh verdict which states that if no decision is taken by the government regarding prosecuting a public servant after three months of request for sanction to prosecute, sanction will be deemed to have been granted.
An elated Yeshwanth Shenoy, president of the foundation said: "This is just the beginning. I am happy that the court took cognizance that the offence had taken place. The judiciary might be slow, but it grinds. This is my memorial service to the victims of the 812 crash."
Yeshwanth had made a plea to charge the officials under section 302 (punishment for murder). While quizzing on it, he told TOI: "I am yet to give my sworn statement. Many of my RTI applications are pending before these authorities. The next date is in July and by that time, I am sure to have some more incriminating documents to push for my murder charge."
He is also filing two writ petitions in the Supreme Court before the end of this month. Refusing to divulge details, Yeshwanth asserts this will be murkier. "Public money is robbed in broad daylight through Air India. My written complaint to the Prime Minister, CVC and minister for Civil Aviation has not been attended to while foreign police officials promptly reply to my letters. Airport Authority of India misled the High Court of Karnataka and Supreme Court and they will have to pay for it," he alleged.
Section 304A of IPC deals with causing death by negligence. It states that whoever causes the death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both."
